Family of standards ISO 9000 are the standards concerning quality and called to help the organizations of all kinds and the sizes to develop, introduce and provide functioning effectively operating SMK.
The basic package of the international standards connected with quality management, has been accepted ISO in March, 1987, in 1994 there was a second edition of the basic standards of this series, and, at last, in December, 2000 the version of standards has been accepted new, actual for today.
The family of standards ISO 9000 includes 4 standards, in which number:
ISO 9000:2000 (GOST R ISO 9000-2001), containing substantive provisions and terminology SMK;
ISO 9001:2000 (GOST R ISO 9001-2001), defining requirements to SMK;
ISO 9004:2000 (GOST R ISO 9004-2001), containing recommendations about activity improvement;
ISO 19011-2002 (GOST R ISO 19011-2003), containing guidelines on audit (check) SMK and-or systems of ecological management.
In general view ISO 9001 is a standard of requirements, of conformity to which certification, and standards ISO 9000, ISO 9004 is spent, ISO 19011 represent supervising positions and the help information to it.
Since first years of existence of standards ISO of a series 9000 (GOST R ISO 9000) introduction SMK and their certification by independent bodies on certification was widely adopted in many, especially in the developed countries of the world. Now introduction and certification of systems of a quality management for many is already come true fact. Recognition SMK in the world can be estimated on following figures - on ISO 9001:2000 in 2001 44 388 organizations, and, for example, in 2004 - already 670 399 organizations have been certificated, in 2006 the number of the certificated organizations has come nearer to one million.
